Backtest uses historical or simulated trades.
Its trade log stays separate from the live Journal.
The result establishes an expectation, not a guarantee.

Use Backtest when you already have completed historical trades for one defined system.

Prepare the evidence#

Keep trades from one approach together. Confirm that the file contains completed trades, a numeric result, consistent units, and useful dates.

Run Backtest#

  1. Open Backtest.
  2. Upload the historical trade file.
  3. Confirm the detected result column.
  4. Check the unit, signs, dates, and row count.
  5. Add any setup information shown by the workflow.
  6. Run the analysis.
  7. Save the result to the correct Saved System when prompted.

Check the output#

Start with trade count and date range. Then review Edge Score, downside risk, consistency, and robustness.

Read your first Backtest result before using it as a baseline.

If upload is wrong#

Stop before analysis and correct the source or mapping. Use Fix a failed upload for the full checklist.
